Social Project Live in Madeira
Our Vision
Live in Madeira showcases the many faces of the island — its people, history, culture, nature, and rural lifestyle — while Madeira Outdoors invites visitors to experience the island in the most authentic and local way possible. Together, we aim to preserve traditions and create new opportunities for current and future generations.
Living Traditions
Madeira is an island rich in culture and tradition, where people have lived in harmony with nature for centuries. However, many of these traditions are at risk due to modernization and a lack of awareness of local heritage. Our project seeks to protect and promote these traditions through genuine, immersive experiences for visitors.
Motivation
As we explored Madeira, we realized that many tour operators focus solely on profit, without giving enough importance to preserving the traditions that make the island unique. Our goal is to change this reality, offering authentic experiences that allow visitors to truly connect with the Madeiran way of life, its stories, and its stunning landscapes.
Project Beginnings
Our first major project was launched in collaboration with the local community, promoting sustainable agriculture, traditional crafts, and genuine hospitality. At the heart of this project is the desire to keep Madeira’s rural culture alive and to ensure that locals benefit from tourism in a fair and respectful manner.
Transformation and Growth
Over the years, we have expanded our initiatives to include more collaborations with local artisans, farmers, and small businesses. Each step we take is aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the residents, while offering visitors a deeper understanding and appreciation of the island’s unique cultural and natural heritage.
With every interaction, we strive to build stronger connections between visitors and locals, fostering mutual respect and a shared commitment to preserving what makes Madeira special. This journey is about more than just tourism — it’s about creating meaningful, lasting impacts on both the community and those who visit.
